Toast to Tomorrow

This month, we hosted our annual John S. Clark Legacy Society Event at Petoskey Farms Vineyard and Winery. We had a wonderful time sharing gratitude, building community, and connecting over our love for Northern Michigan. It was a gray and drizzly day, but Petoskey Farms provided a cozy and warm space for us to gather.

Our Legacy Society is a group of generous folks who have planned a gift to support our community by including the Community Foundation in their will, trust, or estate plan. Planned giving provides a way to leave a legacy for the things people care about most, and its flexibility can mean making a difference for the future without impacting finances in the same way as a typical donation.

The founding member of our Legacy Society, John S. Clark (1912-2003), chose to leave a gift to the community that he cared about because he wanted it to continue to make an impact forever. He said, “There is no finer place to live than the Petoskey-Harbor Springs area. In return for what living here means to me, I want to give something back to this community — like the farmer plowing nutrients back into the soil which sustains him."

We are so grateful for the generosity of our Legacy Society members and their commitment to supporting our community. Swipe through the slideshow to see photos from the event.
