The Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation works to improve the quality of life for all people in Emmet County. As a place-based grantmaker, the Community Foundation is committed to making the community stronger including through its twice-per-year grant cycle. The Community Foundation is currently inviting eligible nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and municipalities to apply to the Fall 2024 grant cycle.
Interested applicants should begin with an email inquiry to [email protected]. The Community Foundation’s grants team, Sarah Ford and Jake Myers, will contact prospective applicants to learn more about their proposed projects and answer questions about the foundation’s grantmaking process. Eligible organizations will then be invited to submit a grant application.
The Community Foundation encourages interested organizations to reach out as early as possible. Inquiries will be accepted through Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Inquiries after September 24 will be asked to wait until the spring grant cycle to apply. Fall grant applications are due Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 11:59 PM EDT.
Application review will take place following the grant deadline and will engage advisory committees made up of community members. Youth- and family-focused applications will be reviewed by the foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee (YAC), made up of 27 area teens. The YAC will prioritize proposals that address issues identified in the Youth Needs Assessment, with the highest priority on youth mental health. Applicants will be notified of funding decisions by late November 2024.
