This free event brings together donors, nonprofit partners, and community members to celebrate the impact of philanthropy across Emmet County.
The evening will feature a new opportunity for attendees to help direct Community Foundation grant funding to local nonprofit organizations, as well as the introduction of a new annual award recognizing outstanding philanthropic leadership and community impact. Comments and awards will take place at 5:30 pm.
Registration is free, and all are welcome. Spots are limited due to capacity.
Everyone Can Be a Philanthropist
We’re trying something new this year! Attendees will have a chance to direct Community Foundation grants to a local nonprofit organization of their choosing.
How It Works:
Each attendee will have the opportunity to complete a ballot recommending an eligible nonprofit organization for a $500 grant from the Community Foundation’s discretionary grant fund. During the event, we will blindly pull three ballots and announce the winners on the spot. Organizations can only receive one grant.
Celebrating Those Who Make a Difference: The Maureen Nicholson Community Impact Award
This evening, we are also announcing a new annual award honoring an individual, family, business, or organization whose generosity, leadership, and dedication have made a lasting impact in our community.
The purpose of this award is to celebrate exemplary acts of charitable giving and sustained commitment to improving lives in Emmet County, while inspiring others to become philanthropic leaders.
The inaugural award will be presented to Maureen Nicholson.
