Bob Schulze Poetry Contest

Bob Schulze was a long-time summer resident of the area north of Harbor Springs who lovedthe woods and the beach, and loved to write poetry. As a boy in Springfield, Illinois, Bob won a writing prize that sparked a lifetime interest. In memory of Bob Schulze, the Schulze Family established a component fund within the Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation to encourage middle school-age youth to express their creative thoughts through poetry. Since 2000, the Bob Schulze Fund for Creative Writing has awarded $3,500 to nearly 200 middle school aged youth in Emmet County.

You will find the entry form below for the October 30, 2013 deadline for submission. Notice and information have been sent to area middle school principals and teachers, in addition to libraries and bookstores.
