Bob Schulze Poetry Contest

Bob Schulze was a long-time summer resident of the area north of Harbor Springs who loved the woods and the beach, and loved to write poetry. As a boy in Springfield, Illinois, Bob won a writing prize that sparked a lifetime interest. In memory of Bob Schulze, the Schulze Family established a component fund within the Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation to encourage middle school-age youth to express their creative thoughts through poetry. Since 2000, the Bob Schulze Fund for Creative Writing has awarded $3,500 to nearly 200 middle school aged youth in Emmet County.
